Email Darren
A native of South Louisiana, Darren grew up in the Shenandoah subdivision ("When we moved in there were only five streets") and went to school at Shenandoah Elementary, Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Michael the Archangel High School (the school formerly known as Bishop Sullivan High School) and LSU. In college, Darren got his start at the student radio station, rising to the role of station manager before being lured to work in New Orleans radio at legendary stations 106.1 The Zephyr and 106.7 The End.
Darren returned to Baton Rouge in 2001 to work in political consulting with MDSA Strategic Communications. Darren managed, consulted and assisted political campaigns on the statewide, regional and local levels. In 2006, Darren was bestowed a Silver POLLIE Award from the American Association of Political Consultants for a radio commercial he co-wrote and co-produced, and the accompanying campaign which he oversaw.
Never fully shaking the radio bug, Darren Gauthier returned to radio full-time in 2005 and has helmed the "Classic Rock Workforce" show on Eagle 98.1 since May of that year.
As for hobbies, Darren enjoys many things but does few of them well enough to brag about.
