Alan's background in collegiate and professional sports comes as a player, a coach, and a general manager.  Risher, a prep All-American quarterback, starred at LSU before enjoying a five-year career in the NFL and USFL.  Risher is one of the greatest LSU quarterbacks of all-time, being named All-SEC in 1982 and Academic All-American the same year. Risher held 23 offensive records at LSU when his career was completed in 1982 and was 3 time LSU’s Offensive MVP. Risher was LSU’s team captain in 1982, led the Tigers to the 1983 Orange Bowl and in that year was honored with the James Corbett Award for being the outstanding amateur athlete in the state of Louisiana. Risher played for the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers and the USFL's Arizona Wranglers.  During his professional playing days he was mentored by Hall of Fame coaches George Allen, Frank Kush, and Forest Gregg.  Risher served as head coach and general manager of the expansion Baton Rouge Blaze of the arenafootball2 league, helping to build that franchise into one of the league's most successful teams, before taking over as head coach and interim general manager of the af2's Mobile Wizards.

Alan has 15+ years of television and radio experience from his own TV coaches show, hosting pregame radio shows and radio programming. Alan has been a resident of Baton Rouge for 21 years and has been actively involved in the business community and has participated in numerous civic and volunteer projects throughout the greater Baton Rouge area.
